This is where I brag on my husband.
A couple of months ago Drew was approached by a head hunter for a job position. It wasn't the first time, but it was the first time he was really interested. He's been feeling the desire to move on with his career for a while and this particular company was of great interest to him. Over the course of a few weeks we prayed about it, researched all that such a change would mean and Drew entered into talks with this company. We felt like this was absolutely an opportunity he needed to pursue and then something funny happened. The new company told him that they would not be hiring him as a sales engineer (the position he had applied for), but instead would like to offer him the position of Business Development Manager. What does that mean? A lot! This company is based in Toronto and they are moving into business with Walmart. The need a local presence to develop and manage that business, as well as the business of all Dollar General stores. This is BIG y'all. It's an amazing opportunity for Drew's career and for our family in general. Drew accepted this offer, gave his notice a couple weeks ago and today was his last day with the company he has worked for for 9 years. Next Wednesday will be his official first day with CES (Consolidated Energy Solutions, Inc.) and what should be the beginning of something great. He will be doing some travel in the first few weeks, getting his feet wet with the new company, and then he will be working from home in the coming months as he develops this business in Arkansas. Eventually he will set up an office in Bentonville and hire a support staff.
Your most basic question... what is CES? In short, they are in the business of supermarket HVAC and dehumidification. They've done business in Canada for about 20 years and are providing a product that few others can. Moving their business into the United States, specifically Walmart & Dollar General, is a really big deal and they have chosen Drew as the man to make it happen! I'm so very proud of him.
Your second most basic question... is this why we are moving? No. It is not. We've been gearing up for a move for months. We will not be moving out of Northwest Arkansas. We are looking for a house in the same area that we've been looking for months and months.
This is a new experience and phase of life for us and I am in awe of all that he is capable of. Praise be to God for the places we've been and the places we are going!
