Home Study Done!!

The social worker came again this evening and completed our interviews. Let me take this moment to thank my mom & dad and Drew's mom & dad for giving us each a lovely childhood. When asked about our parents, siblings and childhoods, we were both able to, with complete honesty, give lovely accounts of those years. Nobody's life is perfect, but we both grew up in loving homes and for that we are blessed. We were also so grateful to sincerely report to the social worker that our families are supportive of our adopting Eleanor and love her so much.
We don't have to do anything else for the home study. Once our background checks are back, she will send the completed home study report to our attorney, Esther. That should take a couple of weeks. After that we just wait for Esther to give us a court date. I believe that will happen when Eleanor is 6 months old, which will be January 2016. If I could make that happen any sooner then I absolutely would. Whenever the time does come, we will go before the judge to make Eleanor's adoption final. We are so happy to be one step closer.  I look at this child and I honestly cannot imagine that she was ever meant to be anywhere but here in our lives.  She is our daughter and for that we praise God.
