Drew and I celebrated 16 years of marriage on Friday. After we put Eleanor to bed we sat on the back porch, Drew grilled steaks, and we enjoyed a bottle of wine. It was simply lovely and a perfect way to spend our anniversary. Baby monitor and all.
For those who are following, this is what we drank Friday night. Director's Cut Pinot Noir. Delicious.
It is possible that my daughter thinks she's one of the doggies. It's possible.
She sure does love these dogs. Let's give Alex & Emma the credit for training them to love (and tolerate) little girls so beautifully.
Eleanor is a great help when I'm trying to get anything done in my office. For example... Look how she organized under the desk while I was paying bills.
Yogurt is yummy.
And an excellent hair conditioner?
I found a few good yard sales on Friday. Two new toys and lots of dancing fun with Daddy.
Just chilling with Braeden.

Eleanor is also excellent at playing video games. Just look how helpful she's being to Drew. Lol.
Today it was beautiful out and we spent the better part of the day in the backyard. Drew hung the swing (another yard sale find!) from a tree for Eleanor. She loves it! $5 well spent.
We hung the squirrel proof bird feeder that Dottie got me for my birthday. (And this evening we sat inside & watched a squirrel try to figure it out.)
We relocated my favorite feeder that Alex & Nonnie made from a coffee can years ago. The squirrels & birds can both continue to help themselves to that seed. We have such fun watching them all.
Drew got a fire pit from his family for his birthday and he put it together today. We used these stones & pea gravel to make a safe & level base for it. It's so pretty sitting out there and we can't wait to start a fire and enjoy another evening in the backyard.
And Eleanor did some more swinging :-)
My garden is doing pretty well. I was a bit worried that it wasn't going to get enough sunshine in that corner of the yard, but it's coming along nicely. My first squash of the season is in the works.
The zucchini plant is just beautiful.
I'm super excited over the cucumber plant because I've never grown one before and I love the way it's vining.
The tomato plants have small fruit already and the okra plants are still slow going. I'm told those will pick up as the weather warms. No matter, I'm quite pleased with how things are growing and thankful to Mother Nature for the steady rain that has so far done most of my watering for me.
Drew & I have started Weight Watchers again. We did it 5 years ago and had great success in losing a few pounds and keeping it off for a decent while, but it's crept back on both of us and we want a re-do. We didn't stick as straight to the plan this week as we should have, but we did something right because I lost 3.5 pounds and Drew lost 5 pounds. Yay us!
