I'm 444 months old today! (This is me making fun of myself. Just go with it and laugh.)
Kayla thought I was 27 years old, which made me feel pretty good, but later she said, "Wait, are you 37 or 47?" So then I felt a little less awesome.
I miss my dad today because for as long as I can remember he would call on my birthday and sing me happy birthday. Phone goes to voicemail? He'd sing to the voicemail. I wish I had one of those recordings now, but I'll just have to use my memory.
My birthday week has been a fun one. My mom came to the house to play a while one afternoon and brought me some adorable new pillows for our camper. Kyle's crew came for dinner one evening and I stuffed my face with absurd amounts of breakfast food for dinner (calories & fat don't count during your birth week). Dottie made me dinner one evening and gave me some cute stuff for the camper. We are camping at Roaring River this weekend and I'm so excited! The weather should be gorgeous and I've never camped there before, so it will be a whole new experience.
That all sounds like a pretty fantastic 37th birthday, right? It is. In fact, when Drew originally asked me what I wanted for my birthday, my only answer was, "I want to go eat donuts for breakfast." So you know what he did? He took me for donuts for breakfast. Oh yeah, and he arranged for Eleanor to stay with Kyle & Misty for a weekend later this month and booked us two tickets to NYC, two nights in a fancy hotel on Broadway, and two orchestra seats to see Wicked on a Saturday night. Seriously. Really y'all. I was so flabbergasted that I didn't initially receive it with the graciousness it deserved. My Bible study gals pointed out that we often have the hardest time receiving gifts when we don't think we deserve them, which I realized was annoyingly true. I let God give me an attitude adjustment and now I'm just feeling immensely loved and super excited for a weekend in NYC!).
Thank you all for making me feel so loved. Much love to you and stay tuned for pictures from the camping weekend!
